Through technology innovation, I aim to improve the world while improving the bottom line of businesses that I work with.
After wrapping up my accounting and law degrees and a Wharton MBA and [finally] entering the workforce, I jumped at an opportunity to scale one of the world’s first internet businesses, iVillage, through international expansion. Since then, I’ve helped many of the world’s well-known tech, media and entertainment businesses grow and serve new audiences by building and scaling new digital businesses. I’ve also stepped into significant executive roles, running a US$1B consumer e-commerce business at Shutterfly, then a US$0.8B re business serving small businesses at Staples.
“My most recent years of work have been the most personally rewarding because I’ve been able to make and help influence decisions to benefit both the world and business. I’m excited to help scale the winds of change for further positive impact in the business world.”
Alongside a tech-focused business career, I’ve also had strong entrepreneurial and wine-focused experiences. Working with wine in hospitality paid my way through law school and ignited my passion for wine. This parlayed into a mission to share Australia’s best wine with the world, so I started a distribution and e-commerce business to bring Australia’s top wines to US consumers. While scaling this business, I invested three years of my non-work waking hours into passing the world’s hardest exam – to become a Master of Wine. It’s been rewarding to bring my passion for wine into my business sphere because I’ve learned that magic happens at the intersection of experience and passion.
“Deep domain knowledge in both tech and wine earns me a seat at the table to contribute to some of the world’s most important wine, hospitality and tech innovations.”
It was a great honor to be invited by the Rothschild family to join the Board of Baron Philippe de Rothschild as an Independent Director for one of the world’s leading wine businesses. I also serve as a Non-Executive Director of Claranova, a French technology business, and Ecofibre Ltd, an Australian publicly listed advanced manufacturing business that enables consumers, companies, and government organizations to permanently remove carbon from our environment.
Most recently, Doug Cook and I co-founded a wine technology business called Thirsty Logic, which uses expert knowledge and machine learning to revolutionize beverage service for restaurants and hotels. We are taking our unique combination of drinks expertise and technology experience to meaningfully improve customer experiences for diners and drive more profitability for restaurants.
